Volkswagen’s Golf VII (7) has been spotted in prototype form. The new Golf VI in the images from WorldCarFans features new bigger wheel arches, and this is pretty much what gave it away.
The Golf 7 is expected to arrive around 2012, which is like two years ahead of the anticipated schedule.
VW’s Golf is pretty much the biggest selling car for the company, so they have begun testing on the new model to make sure that everything is perfect for when it goes on sale. The new model will feature the Twin Drive hybrid technology, and this will combine a 1.5-litre diesel engine with three-electric motors. The driving distance on electric power will be 48km.
The fuel efficiency will be really good, while the gearbox will be a new 7-speed ‘box.

It’s the Golf 6 with wider arches. It’s not the new design whatsoever
